BREAKING BAD tops 65th Primetime Emmy Awards

65th PRIMETIME EMMY AWARD WINNERS-The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards were hosted by Neil Patrick Harris at the LA Nokia Theatre and broadcast live on CBS. It was a busy night as Breaking Bad won the award for Best Drama Series and Jeff Daniels beat out Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston to the surprise of many as Best Actor.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won the Primetime Lead Actress Emmy for her role as Selena Meyer in the political satire Veep. Last year Louis-Dreyfus became the first actress to win lead or supporting comedy acting for three different shows. Modern Family won their fourth consecutive Outstanding Comedy Award.

Netflix made history with the first ever Emmy Award of online only web television. It had three wins for director David Fincher‘s House of Cards, as well as a pair of Creative Arts Emmy Awards, making “Chapter 1″ the first Primetime Emmy-awarded webisode.

Whilst HBO largely dominated the awards with 37 nominations to the network’s name. Stars in attendance included Michael Douglas,   Alexander Skarsgard, Nathan Fillion, Charlize Theron, Ben Foster, Robin Wright, Edie Falco, Johnny Galecki, Kit Harington, Michael J. Fox, Nina Dobrev, Zooey Deschanel, Kevin Spacey and many more.
